how they met – 2018
They met on Bumble and quickly became good friends. One day, with a bit of liquid courage, Takira confessed that she had feelings for Matthew beyond friendship, and she was thrilled to discover he felt the same. After their first date, they fell for each other, and the rest is history! Six years later, they live in Greenville, SC, with their beautiful blue-nose pitbull, Mila, and their handsome tabby cat, Cooper.
the engagement – february 21, 2024
After traveling from Bangkok, Thailand to Bali, Indonesia for over a week and a half, Matthew suggested they visit one more island in Indonesia—Gili Trawangan. Our morning on Gili T was perfect, starting with a stunning breakfast followed by lounging on the beach. They then decided to stroll back to our private villa, which had its own pool, for some one-on-one relaxation. It was there, in the privacy of their villa, that Matthew proposed to Takira. The moment was intimate, perfect, and truly them. The rest of the day was spent exploring Gili T and enjoying the crystal-clear ocean before sharing the exciting news with friends and family.
our elopement – april 8, 2025
On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, we exchanged our vows in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, North Carolina, with just the two of us, our fur babies, and our lovely photographers. We began the day with a cozy breakfast, exchanged thoughtful gifts, and prepared together in our finest attire. We then hiked to a stunning, secluded spot where we shared our intimate vows. To celebrate, we enjoyed our first dance and a delightful picnic with champagne, capping off the beautiful experience of becoming husband and wife.
